Sustainability Tours
The Solar Garden offers tours for organized groups, families, summer camps, travel agencies, and Jewish youth groups from abroad (i.e. Taglit-Birthright, Masa).
Sustainability tour program
Eco-tours include four complexes across the garden - energy, water, green construction and recycling. A typical tour takes between an hour and a half to two hours. Throughout the tour, visitors are encouraged to create innovative solutions to today's environmental challenges. Visitors familiarize themselves with current and future technologies that deal with these challenges exhibited at the different complexes.
Energy Complex - learn to distinguish between renewable resources, understand the growing need for clean energy production and take a closer look at current and future electricity generation systems.
Water Complex - learn about the water cycle and water conservation products as well as existing and future water purification technologies which can be implemented at home.
Green Building Complex - get introduced to the principles of green building which lead to energy savings and increased quality of life. Participants design a green house based upon the principles that are learned.
The Resource Complex - recognize the importance of separating waste materials. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Learn how nature deals with organic waste and how to treat waste as a valuable resource.
